DAY 43, HAPPY NOODLES



Happy Noodles are a favourite in our Grade 8 Fast Food project. I usually use chicken filet, but it's veggie today - delicious either way!

Ingredients

1 filet chicken, beef or tofu/mushrooms
5 stir-fry vegetables (paprika, mushrooms, sugar snaps, sweet corn, spring onions, beansprouts etc.)
1 clove garlic
2cm fresh ginger
1tbsp soy sauce
1tbsp white vinegar
100g dried noodles
I tbsp vegetable oil
1tbsp oyster sauce

Method

1.    Crush garlic and grate ginger. Slice chicken/beef/tofu/mushrooms into long thin pieces. Mix together with soy sauce and vinegar in a bowl.  Allow to marinate for 10 minutes 






2.    Chop the veg into bite sized pieces


3.    Half fill a pot of water. Place over a high heat, bring to the boil. Add the noodles to the pan and time for 4 minutes. Drain and refresh in cold water.


4.    Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan to medium hot. Add the meat/tofu/mushrooms and the marinade and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until browned.


5.    Add the chopped veg and continue to stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.



6.    Add the cooked noodles and oyster sauce. Stir-fry for a further 2 minutes and serve!
